i embarked on this trip feelin weary but excited. weary cos of the crazy amt of prep wk n late nite phone conferences to settle major probs b4 the trip. excited cos it was a place tt ive nva been to b4 n wld love to visit since the korean wave hit me.. haha more imptly its the 1st time im gg on a hol w frens!
@changi airport b4 boarding planewell i mus admit tt it's a friggin weird combi haa cos we're not a clique aftall n the 2 sides barely noe each other well enuf to travel tog(!?) since jc. i mean im fine w each of them since im in constant contact w each of em.. but also bcos of tt reason.. i feel more stressed cos im lik the inbetween. if u noe wad i mean. haha turned out-- they all ganged up against me thruout the trip!! lik wth! tks gals. orite stop crappin, kitty.
departure 8am
haha expectedly or unexpectedly i was the earliest to reach the airport. tks to my extremely ks parents. fortunately my dad took off cos i cldnt even carry my lugg at all. haa. n tkfully there is gladys when we desperately needed help to lift our luggs. hehe. on account of tt.. i shall not expose too much of her weird habits (n i emphasize WEIRD.) here. i try la. Fact no 1. gladys has a sleeping sickness, which we termed it "orh orh pio" (pio means sickness la). n erps ignore wad i said in the previous sentence haa. the 2 of us were supposed to watch the same movie on the plane.. but smbody jus had to doze off halfway..
typical gladys when her orh orh pio is acting up. apparently she is too ashamed of her sickness to show her face.ok sidetrack abit.. this was wad we had for lunch on SQ--
some fish in cajun sauce. the whole set was damn gd. best meal on air.
arrival
the flight was friggin 8hrs so by the time the plane touched down it was oredi bout korea time 3pm.
weather was damn gd. aircon temp most of the time. cept for nites when it can get q chilly. but considering tt i can take cold more than hot, tink its perfectly bearable. compared to intolerably hot spore! haa mayb not the dryness la.. cos my lips cracked lik 5 times in one day?! n my face felt so taut even aft slappin lotsa clinique n biotherm mosturizer (kindly sponsored by gladys n wj) at nite, it cld crack anytime. lik the skin of an old grandmama. well, at least they seldom get pimples!
1st tot: we friggin looked lik tourists cos weird pple kept approaching us to take their taxis. n there was tis weird guy which i shall not elab on. rollseyes.
hehz this is wad the "berth" for the airport limo looks lik.n erps can u imagine tt we dragged our luggs across 2 streets to get to our place of accomo?? my goodness. hilarious. a real once in a lifetime experience.
haa i really dun wanna elab on tt stinking (literal meaning) room tt we'd gotten. haa i bet gladys wld've mentioned it in her blog. i wonder how we lasted thru the 7 nites. well we're jus suay. or mayb gladys brot shit luck w her.
HAHAHA. as her roomie, i dun haf much complaints la cos we dun interfere w each other's 'way of life'.. cept for a particular "orh orh pio" incident which triggered everyone's laffin nerves. haa ok zip. b4 i kena K to death.
n this is how much thrash tt Dog contributed to korea in say..2 days?.. oh this i mus say. she's really lackey no2 lor. i mean she cant stop sniffin stuff for once. STOP acting lik a dog gladys. haa she mus really haf tried hard to camouflage her doggie self when she was us( ren n cey n whoever).
kitty+gladys= a horribly messy room. apparently it says so judging at the lvl of neatness of our dressing table. entire contrast if u compare w the other room. HA. fortunately or unfortunately we dun c the friggin pt in making our beds as well. hi5.

the 1st evening to nite was entirely spent on dongdaemun (ddm). which i felt was pretty much a waste of time althou true enuf there were many shopping centres in tt area.. but the stuff were way too expensive. n the vendors really jacked up the px by a hell lot.didnt buy any clothes in korea (cept for a pair of skinnies).. prolly jus not my kinda fashion la. furthermore the foreign gds were sooo expensive! the zara sale there was crap! so im q thankful tt im livin in spore in a way. haa. fr a mango-girl perspective. erhem. "reaped" more stuff fr the last few days of shopping @ sinchon n myeongdong. the shopping streets are perfect for crazy shopaholics!! u definitely cant find such streets in spore. can u believe tt we went to myeongdong for 4 consec days! (not one whole day la)

HA. at least i didnt buy SO many skincare pdts compared to All of them!! we practically combed all the skinfood shops in the 3 main shopping streets we visited. im not exaggerating. erhem. some Mama bot hand cream foot cream this cream tt cream lor. *rollseyes.

unlik wad many pple told us b4 the trip.. the food wasnt bad at all! definitely one of the plus pts for gg free n easy. cos we get to choose our own food n not b compelled to eat wad is perceived to b nice. haa. prices thou q affordable arent tt cheap thou. i mean if u're hoping to find kopitiam prices over there, tink u shld forget abt it. haa. love love love our meals everyday.

haa we were supposed to visit more places such as han river n world cup stadium n dammit jeju(airtix were friggin sold out).. but we decided all had to make way for more shopping. how i wished i had more time. n money.

jus take a look at the crowd. these students really dun haf to go to sch lor.. it's a weekday!! early noon smore!OHMYGOD one of the freakiest rollercoaster rides ive ever rode on! haha cant believe i queued for so long to scare the hell out myself. i literally felt i was gona b strewn off my seat anytime! n it didnt help tt i was kinda small for tt seat. dammit. its not comparable to the typical kinda ride tt u can expect in aussie cos the feelin is just different. serious. faints. i shiver at the tot of tt ride. yes kitty spells weak. anwz tks to tt harrowing ride, we cldnt take anymore rollercoaster rides. the other 2 who didnt mind takin the risk of gettin wet tried one of the wet rides.
so the rest of the day was spent takin photos photos n more photos.

Hmm.. chose this palace amongst many others cos its supposedly the biggest. i dont deny tt its pretty big, but not as big as i'd expected fr the map.
they actually have different "function rooms" haha
hehz. posing in telephone booths outside cdg. smartie wj made us pose in a similar fashion. but oops notti kitty had to spoil it. n i was blamed for stealing the dog's limelight. did i not tell u tt cats n dogs dun cant get along?? ha. oh. seoul is unique cos their palaces are kinda everywhere in the city.. haa kinda bo bian for them la since its impt for tt nation to restore those sites to add cultural value to the city.
anw an amusing food for tot: some jap tourists were talkin abt us literally behind our backs haa tinkin tt we cldnt understand. but i actually did! muahaha. i mean gladys n wj cld understand too. but wad im tryin to say is, when we're in a foreign land, we try to speak some lang tt they cant understand, for e.g. mandarin, but it's dumb to make such assumptions these days.. given tt many pple are actually multilingual! speakin of lang, dun ever speak mandarin there. w ur asian face, u'll naturally b regarded as chinese fr china. (erps dunno whether its appropriate to state the reason here. so i better not say.) dun even attempt to speak jap. cos being nihonjin to them connotes tt u r loaded n u noe wad happens. stilllll even when i dun open my mouth the same goes for wj.. they tink we're jap! lik wherrrt! for wj's case, i can undertsand but.. i dun look jap at all! so u jus haf to correct them time to time tt u're sporean. n i tink they kinda lik spore? haa at least i didnt get the feelin of being disliked.
ha. the funy ting was the chance of gladys being perceived to b a local was rather high! haa! can u imagine locals askin her for directions n speakin to her in korean!? anw some aunties, as in shopkeepers, were rather nice la not tt fierce as i tot aftall. a number of vendors praised us for our not bad command of korean. haa i wont say i can speak well at all but mayb adequate for simple expressions. ha.

hehe its located in the mbc valley so we took a no of pics w famous actors n actresses over there.ok i shall not attempt to act cool beside hyun bin nxt time. :(

this place of interest is much more worth it than cdg man thou both were filming sites for daejanggeum aka da chang jin. suay ah. it was pouring heavily when we were almost done w tt place n poor mama left her umbrella in the bus, partly due to her orh orh pio. yes again.

sigh since we cldnt go to the kingdom in jeju, we had to settle for the museum. yes, museum. so we had to see the poor bears who were trapped inside the display cages. n there was no alfred!! boo..
well.. my smelly face says it all..
still, the caged bears were pretty interestin la.. i mean better than nothing :(

the 1st bite of tt chic nearly sent me flyin to the roof! hot!!! haha paiseh to those 2 who cldnt really take spicy food!.. but then again.. the chicken were extremely delicious.

yes 8days is friggin short. cos im oredi missin everything. pple, place, n all. actually the combi is great la. haa shall not tok abt sniffer/sleeper gladys here la. later she get too high cannot sleep. shall keep everything in my heart. bleah. n apparently we appeared tog in freakin too many pics tt im sick of her. hehz wj is jus funny. lik damn funny. altho as princessy as me (both of us suffer from some kind of gung ju pio), mayb less, haa, she's damn gd at directions!! yx is motherly lik v motherly haa althou i oredi noe tt fr the 3 yrs spent tog in uni. but didnt expect her to b tt motherly la. hehz dun wan tok bout her oso la later mf read le tell her then i paiseh. :P
All in all, the trip was fantabulous! dun mind gg there again. HA althou we oredi have other places in mind.. hehe erps n wait till i haf money. sighhhh my pocket is so broken!
my fav purchases: most notcheap but worthit n loveit item- shinhwa seoul concert 06 dvd. most notcheap n notworthit but loveit items: the heels. most wanted item: skinnies. most cheapo-beepo items: those bags. most extravagant items: That bag. n the ex clinique blusher fr incheon airport. shall not say how much sy got it for during the friggin nus beauty bazaar or wadever u call it. urgh. pissss me off! most crap item: the seoul tower keychain. i absolutely haf no use for it but im gonna utilise it nevertheless.
vain kitty had to try on her lovely earrings rite aft she got back to the hostel!
